Summer Technology
Students will be taking iPads home again this summer, so we would like to share some important information with you. Even though the iPads are at home, they are still a school device, so students should use them in a manner consistent with what we have discussed here at school. Students should not use their school login information at any website that the district has not approved. They may use their log in for any of the Apps in Self Service or anything they can connect to through Classlink. Also, please do not put an Apple ID on the student devices; this can cause a myriad of issues. Finally, if you need technical support, please visit Ms. Johnston’ Tech Support page.
SORA
You’re probably aware that your student can access the SVVSD Digital library through Sora and read thousands of ebooks, but did you know that SVVSD has teamed up with public libraries to increase access to reading? Students can use their district Sora account to access the digital libraries of Front Range and High Plains. To access these, students will need to tap on the three lines in the upper right corner of Sora, go to ‘add library’ and type in either Front Range or High Plains. Once you tap on the result, you can view and check out their books on your device. Please note, although the public libraries still have age restrictions on many books, they may not be as strict as SVVSD age restrictions. Use this opportunity to discuss what books are appropriate for your family.

Our Transportation Department is preparing for the upcoming school year. If you are interested in having your child ride the bus for the 2023-2024 school year, please apply for transportation services as soon as possible. The Transportation Department makes every effort to accommodate as many eligible riders as possible.
