March Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians:

We have had a wonderful month of February and spring is for sure right around the corner!! On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to thank you for attending the spring conferences.  Partnerships and a strong community are essential and we all appreciate having the opportunity to share your child’s success.  Thank you again for coming.  I also want to thank the hospitality committee for the wonderful dinners during conferences.  We so greatly appreciate it.

I would like to share with you some celebrations and upcoming events as we enter the month of March.   Read Across America Day, Dr. Seuss’s birthday is March 2nd.  We will have a variety of community leaders that will come read to our Hygiene students throughout the morning.

This is a reminder that the 2nd trimester report cards are available March 9th on Infinite Campus.  For more information on how to access the report card, please follow this link: Elementary Report Cards

Are you ready to enter the future?  Hawk Air Future is right around the corner.  Please mark your calendars for March 20th and 21st. This is one of the biggest highlights of the school year, thanks to our incredible group of students, teachers and parents.  This has been our capstone project of the year and the students are truly ready to go to the future.  In addition, we are calling all parents to help build the city of the future.  If you are interested in helping take part by setting up, March 17 from 9:00 am-12:00 pm or being a tour guide during the day on March 20th or March 21st, please contact Sherry Legrand at [email protected].  We need as much help as possible to make this event an incredible experience for our students.   Parents, please mark your calendars for an Open House Event on March 20th  from 5:30-7:00 pm.  This will be an opportunity to experience this awesome event with your child and family.

Spring Break starts on March 23rd so please mark your calendars.  We will return on April 2nd.  This is also time for our Spring MyOn Challenge.  Every minute you read on MyOn between March 24th and April 2nd counts.  Let’s try to place in the top three again for a chance to win up to $2000 from the district.

Mark your calendars for our annual Volunteer Recognition Breakfast on April 4th at 9:00 am.  We would like to recognize all the volunteers that have made our school so successful this year.  Please join me in celebrating all of you on behalf of the entire Hygiene staff.  This event will be held in the library.

The Partnership for Assessment Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC tests) window is April 9-27.   Please see this newsletter for detailed information about when these tests occur. Grades 3-5 will have designated days and times for the tests, and all tests will be administered during regular classroom time in the classrooms on chromebooks.  Schedules will remain the same as it does not impact the overall building.

I look forward to seeing everyone at Hawk Air!
