Bio

Hello, my name is Kirsten Maurer. I teach 4th grade here at Hygiene! I absolutely love working here at Hygiene, it's definitely the BEST school around. I am a Longmont native and graduated High School right here from Silver Creek High School. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Special Education from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. I began my teaching career in Garden City, Kansas where I taught Kindergarten for two years. Knowing Kansas wasn't where I wanted to be forever, I quickly moved back home to Longmont. I continued teaching in Greeley and then moved schools to LaSalle where I taught for 5 years prior to moving schools to Hygiene! In Greeley I taught Kindergarten and in LaSalle I taught 3rd and 4th Grade. In 2022 I joined Hygiene Elementary as a 1st Grade Teacher and this year I made the switch back to 4th grade. Of all the schools I have worked in, Hygiene is definitely my favorite and I am so thankful to teach here. I am going back to school to work on my Graduate Degree in Administration. In my spare time, I love spending time in the mountains hiking and snowboarding. I also enjoy paddleboarding, dirt biking, going on walks with my dog Kayuh, and spending time with my family.
