I am absolutely thrilled to return to Hygiene Elementary for my second year as a special education teacher. I spent the 10 years prior to that as the principal of Centennial Elementary in Firestone, CO. I decided to step away from that role in 2024 as my mother's health is failing and I needed to shift my focus more toward my family. Prior to that, I was a coordinator at the district level for secondary literacy, social studies, 504 plans and MTSS. I held a similar role in Weld Re-4 as well as taught there starting in 2003. I began my career in public education in 2000 as a special education teacher in a residential treatment center for children with emotional disabilities. I taught one year of kindergarten in a private school as well. My husband and I recently celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary and we have two daughters. My oldest is a freshman at University of Colorado in Colorado Springs this year and my youngest is a freshman at Mountain View High School in Loveland. I am looking forward to spending more time with my family again this year and getting to know the Hygiene community even better!
