Hygiene Elementary has been recognized as a John Irwin School of Excellence. The John Irwin awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement over time. These schools received an Exceeds Expectations rating on the Academic Achievement indicator of the School Performance Frameworks reflecting exceptional performance in Math, English Language Arts, and Science.

Q: Will Art, Music and PE be offered at Hygiene Elementary?
Answer: Art, Music and PE will be offered for all K-5 students two times a week. Arts play an integral role in supporting the work of classroom teachers. The arts offer a wonderful way to pique student interests and to reinforce curriculum content. Additionally, the arts provide an alternative forum for students to make connections, demonstrate their knowledge, and gain access to academic content. We use the arts as a vehicle and hook to all students can reach mastery. After school activities in the arts through community schools, will also be offered at Hygiene Elementary.
Q: Will students have library and computer?
Answer: K through 5th grade students will enjoy a STEAM focused library time every other week with emphasis on Design Challenge, Coding, and Reading. All K-5 students have a school issued iPad that they will use throughout the day. Preschool will get to enjoy the library every week.
Q: Is it possible to attend Hygiene Elementary if we live outside of the school’s boundaries?
Answer: Through open enrollment it is possible to attend Hygiene if you live outside of the school’s boundaries or live outside of the St. Vrain Valley School District. Open Enrollment Forms should be completed in advance to save time and will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. The open enrollment process begins in December.
Q: Is full day kindergarten available? What is the process?
Answer: We offer a full-day kindergarten for our students. During their day they will have lunch, snack, recess, and Specials classes. Kindergarten registration begins in December/January each year. Registration packets can be picked up at the school office.

Answer: Preschool is offered at Hygiene Elementary.

Q: What kinds of before and after school programming will be offered?
Answer: Our Community Schools program offers The Hub before and after school care program, and Late Start morning movies. They also offer classes throughout the year including Spanish, Pottery, Robotics, and so much more. Flyers will be sent home with students about upcoming classes.
