Message from the Principal
Dear Hygiene Elementary Families,
I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits as we approach this holiday season. As your principal of Hygiene Elementary, I am delighted to share some exciting news and updates with you.
First and foremost, let’s take a moment to celebrate the incredible generosity of our students during the canned food drive. Thanks to their efforts and your support, we were able to make a significant impact on those in need within our community. Your kindness truly embodies the spirit of giving during this special time of the year. We will continue to collect cans for the next 2 weeks.
I am also thrilled to announce that our students achieved another successful Thanksgiving Myon Challenge, securing 2nd place! This accomplishment reflects their dedication to reading and academic excellence. Congratulations to each and every student who participated – your hard work and enthusiasm are truly commendable.
Looking ahead, we have another exciting event on the horizon. Our Arts Night is scheduled for next Tuesday, December 12th, featuring the incredible talents of our students in grades PreK-2nd. It promises to be a night filled with creativity, imagination, and a celebration of the arts. I encourage you to mark your calendars and join us for this special evening.
As we approach the weekend, I want to wish each and every one of you a fantastic time filled with joy, laughter, and relaxation. May this holiday season bring warmth and happiness to your homes. In the upcoming weeks, we will be celebrating with all of you. All grade levels will have a holiday celebration the last week of school to celebrate the winter season and all of the students.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making Hygiene Elementary a thriving and caring community. We look forward to seeing you at Arts Night and sharing more wonderful moments together.

Parents, the Arts Night for PreK – 2nd Grade has been changed. The original date was Wednesday, December 13th. Arts Night for PreK – 2nd will now be Tuesday, December 12th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM

Open Enrollment, Kindergarten, PreSchool – Important Information
If your student is currently at Hygiene in Kinder through 4th, you DO NOT need to do anything in the way of registration. Your student is automatically enrolled in a class for next year!! No further action is required!!
The open enrollment window for the 2024-2025 school year will be available beginning Friday, December 1, 2023 through Friday, December 15, 2023.
Open enrollment is only for Kinder – 12th grade students that live outside the attendance area of the school you wish to enroll your student into. Families can use this link to identify the neighborhood schools associated with their address. If Hygiene Elementary is NOT listed as your neighborhood school, you will need to complete an Open Enrollment request. Please know that if you submit a registration before December 1st, 2023 it will show up as a request to register for the current school year (2023-2024) and not for the next year (2024-2025). This will result in families having to register a second time for the next school year. This link will provide you with a step-by-step guide of what to expect if you plan to open enroll your student(s).
Note: This information is only applicable to grades K-12
St. Vrain Valley School District offers free full-day kindergarten at every elementary school. For the 2024-2025 school year, kindergarten applications will be accepted between December 1-15, 2023.
Students must turn 5 on or before Oct. 1, 2024 to enter kindergarten.
**Please note, even if your child attended preschool at our school, he/she will still need to be enrolled into Kindergarten with an Open Enrollment Request or a New Student Registration Request.

PreSchool – Pre-Registration
2024-2025 Fall Preschool Pre-Registration Begins December 1st 2023
To better serve families and to support a more timely student preschool placement, St. Vrain’s Department of Early Childhood Education is offering families the opportunity to complete the district’s online pre-registration process prior to the state’s Universal Preschool (UPK) application. Families that pre-register in December will receive a notification of their placement from St. Vrain Valley Schools by the end of January, 2024. Pre-registered families will receive ongoing support and communication from St. Vrain Valley Schools if they choose to navigate the UPK process.

Hygiene Canned Food Drive
It’s that wonderful time of year once again when our schools and buildings come together to make a meaningful difference in our local community. We are providing vital support to the Food Share and Longmont OUR Center. Together, we’ve contributed over 40,000 pounds of food to those in need on an annual basis. This year, we are proud to extend our helping hand to the Longmont OUR Center. The Canned Food Drive isn’t just about collecting food; it’s an opportunity for our students to lead by example and make a positive impact on our community.
Important Dates:
