Dear Hygiene Families,

I want to take this opportunity to welcome you back for the 2020-2021 school year.  I hope everyone had a good summer.  Although we begin this school year with unprecedented and uncharted waters, we will work together collectively and collaboratively as a community to ensure your child has a great school year. On behalf of the entire staff at Hygiene, we look forward to connecting with all of you and starting the school year next week.

The school supply list may be found here and on our website (hes.svvsd.org).  Please get supplies for your child and hang onto them so that your child has all materials needed during their remote learning time.  If any family needs school supplies and a backpack, please contact the office (720-652-8021) so we can assist you.  If you would like more information about applying for free and reduced meals, please click here.

This year we have a number of new amazing staff joining us.  Please join me in welcoming the following new staff members to our Hygiene community:

In addition to new staff, I would like to provide everyone with some recent staff changes. Linda Emmerman, our music teacher, has made the decision to retire.  We wish her the best in her next adventure.  Sherry Legrand, our STEAM Coordinator, will be teaching Launch Ed for our district this year.  We will continue to keep everyone updated on any other staffing changes.

*** In order to ensure your child is set up for success, we need to distribute important curriculum materials that include consumable workbooks. These materials will be extremely important for your child in the next six weeks. Therefore, on Thursday, August 13 and Friday August 14, we will begin the distribution of materials and technology (please see the specific times above).  It will be extremely important to come during these times.  If these times do not work, please call the office at 720-652-8021 and we will arrange another time to come and pick up materials.  This process will take place in the Hug-n-Go area, which is on the south side of the school.  Please remain in cars and we will deliver all materials curbside.

All 4th and 5th grade students will receive their own individual iPad unless they already received one in the spring.  It is the district’s goal that every family will have a district-issued device to use for school; we are awaiting the delivery of many of these devices.  If your family does not have a device that can be used at home for online learning or if you have any questions about iPad pick-ups, please contact Summer Irvin at 720-652-8021 as soon as possible.

I look forward to seeing everyone this week and please do not hesitate to reach out for anything at all.
