- My name is Joanie Pray. I am your new Secretary at Hygiene. I am so grateful to be a part of the Hygiene Elementary School family. I grew up in Upstate New York. My husband and I met when we were working together at IBM. The winds of change and a very large moving truck moved us to Colorado in 1988. We have called Longmont our home ever since. We just celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary. We have two beautiful daughters, Katey and Emma, and a son-in-law named Patrick. He and Katey were married on March 17, 2019.Katey and Emma grew up in the St. Vrain Valley School District. They went to Sanborn Elementary, Mead Middle, and Skyline High School. I attribute their academic success to the teachers and staff that guided them through their K-12 years. Since they started Kindergarten, I have wanted to be a part of the district that so impressed me. I was a parent volunteer, PTO President, and Paraeducator over the years. I went on to start a new career in the financial industry. I worked for Edward Jones for 16 years. Then this incredible opportunity presented itself and here I am! I love working with all of you to help guide a new incredible group of students In my free time I love to spend time with my family! Katey and Patrick live in Washington State pursuing their careers. We try to visit them as often as possible. Emma is pursuing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at CSU. She is starting her fourth year. We also have our furry kids. We have three Golden Retrievers named Winnie, Bailey, and Huck, as well as two feisty felines named Piper and Oskar. My door is always open! I am looking forward to getting to know all of you!
