- Community Schools
It has been our intention to return to some form of in-person learning as soon as it was determined by our health departments that it is both safer and feasible to do so. On September 21, during our virtual town hall with county health department officials, we reviewed the current coronavirus data for our community. To this end, our county health agency partners have made the recommendation that it is now appropriate for us to return to a hybrid learning model. Click here to watch the virtual town hall discussion about the data guiding our decisions and current levels in our community. Beginning Monday, October 5, we will be implementing a hybrid in-person learning schedule for all students who are not currently enrolled in the LaunchED program. LaunchED student’s schedules will not be impacted by this change.
We are very excited to announce that Hygiene Elementarty has been recognized as a John Irwin School of Excellence. The John Irwin awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement over time. These schools received an Exceeds Expectations rating on the Academic Achievement indicator of the School Performance Frameworks reflecting exceptional performance in Math, English Language Arts, and Science. This is a very prestigious award given only to the top performing schools in Colorado. We are very proud of our teachers and students for all the work and dedication to academic excellence that they have shown.
We are also excited to announce that Hygiene Elementary has received a Colorado Department of Education Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award. This award is given to schools that demonstrate exceptional student growth. On the school performance framework that is used by the state to evaluate schools, these schools "exceed" expectations on the indicator related to longitudinal academic growth and "meet or exceed" expectations on the indicator related to academic growth gaps.
Thank you again to all of our exceptional teachers, staff, students, and parents for supporting the work we do here at Hygiene.
