MyOn Summer Reading Challenge

Summertime!  And this summer definitely looks different.  With more time at home, kids are going to need more to do.  Crafting, coding, cooking, its all here in MyOn books. Did you know that spending 30-40 minutes each day on MyOn during break can help your reading comprehension, increase your knowledge, and cure boredom.  Start a new series , learn to code, or check out one of the many craft books and make something fun.  There are lots of new books for this year, including the Influential People biography series, Gross Jobs, and Yasmin!  This season's MyOn Challenge includes Preschoolers!

And did we mention the prizes?  You could be Principal for the day and have lunch with Mrs. Collier.  Or you could win some awesome Hygiene swag.  And, if you are one of the top 16 readers, you get to take part in next years' Battle of the Hawks!  Also, the school could win up to $2,500! Remember, time only counts while you are actively reading a book, not while you are browsing the library.  This contest runs from May 21st through August 18th. To access MyOn, students will need to go through the SVVSD Clever application.  This can be reached through the MyOn link on our homepage, the Ceran Student homepage, or at - at the bottom of the page you will see "Log in with Clever".  Or you can just click Here.  The students will use their SVVSD user name and password (do not include the  We have practiced this at school and the students all had the opportunity to make a favorites list.  Using a mobile device?  See the instructions below for setting up the app.

Please help us by having your child(ren) get on MyON over the break.

New:  The MyOn app will now record your minutes that you read offline and upload them when you reconnect to the internet.  This makes it even easier to read on that long car trip.  The MyOn App is available from the Apple Store and Google Play.

Using a phone or tablet?  Due to the district going Single Sign On, your student's login using the myOn app has changed. While online (at school or home) the student must login, in the upper right hand corner in the blue box is a picture of an iPad, click to reveal your students 4 character PIN.  Once the myON app is downloaded to your device, there is a screen to add a user, you may have multiple users so each student will need to be added separately using their own personal PIN.  Click to add.  You will need to enter the school, and your students username, at "password or PIN" you must enter your students 4 character PIN.  This is a one time set up that links your student through the Single Sign On allowing your student to read off line and have those minutes counted.  Once your student is added to the myOn app. click the lower right hand corner, a list of the students you have added will appear.  For your student to login - click your student's name, and enter their username.  You will need to have online access to download books to your students account.  Once books are downloaded (the limit is 20 books per student) they can read offline and those minutes will be tracked and uploaded the next time the device is connected to the internet.  Our contest runs through Monday, so make sure that by Monday evening the device has made an internet connection for tabulation in the reading contest.

myOn also said that the myOn app is available at both the Apple Store and Google Store for download on the appropriate devise operating system.  If a parent has issues with the download they are happy to help them if they call 1-888-728-1266 Customer Support.
