It's time for sunny days, swimming, hiking, and goofing off. And, it's also time for summer reading. By encouraging your child to read 20-60 minutes a day (depending on age), you can help curb the "summer slide" and keep them ready for school in the fall. And this summer your children can do this and benifit the school at the same time! The Summer MyOn Reading Challenge begins on May 22nd and runs through August 14th. It is available to all students who were at Hygiene at the end of the 2016-2017 school year - that includes all our 5th graders!
And did we mention the prizes? The school could win up to $2500.
Remember to have your child get to MyOn through the Clever website (Avaliable on the Ceran Website) rather than the app, otherwise it may not record their minutes correctly. You can get there HERE.
Need some great suggestions? Here are some of the most popular books with our students on MyOn:
The Scooby Doo series
Games Around the World (part of a series)
Any of the Dinosaur Wars books
I Know a Sasquatch
Red Riding Hood: Super Hero (part of a series)
Wile E Coyote Experiment books (A series of simple Physics explainations using Wile E. Coyote)
Mighty Mighty Monsters
Also, there are a lot of arts and crafts and cooking books to conquer the mid-summer "I'm Bored" blues.
Let's get busy reading! And thank you to all of you who encourage your child to participate!
