FAQ

Q: What is Enhancement through the Arts?

Answer: Enhancement through the Arts means the arts are used as a device, strategy, or vehicle to support the curriculum. For example, the students might sing the ABCs as a means of remembering the letters and sequence of the alphabet. However, the students are not expected to learn about melody or song structure using this particular variation. Arts Enhanced Curriculum acts as a hook to achieve mastery of the curriculum. For the 2013-2014 school year, our focus is on movement. Students are exposed to movement on a daily basis as a vehicle to reach mastery of the curriculum. They also use physical movement as brain breaks to increase student achievement in the classroom.
